Painting Process

This was one of my first hand-painted signs, and I was very new to the world of sign painting.

I remember applying gesso first and measuring the letters for height and width. Next, I applied a brown antiqued wash over the gesso and began hand-painting the TAROT letters on both sides of the board. The final touch was adding a few icons and images related to tarot (moon, pentacles, symbols) along with the ApotheCarrie Tarot logo. Overall, it turned out alright, and Carrie still uses the sign for events since it was painted back in 2019.
