Thanksgiving Window Splash | Deroche General Store

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and this past Saturday, I painted a window splash for Deroche General Store in Deroche, BC. The splash features a warm and inviting Thanksgiving theme that celebrates the essence of the holiday. The design incorporates rich autumn colours such as deep oranges, reds, and golden yellows, evoking the beauty of the fall harvest.

The splash's centrepiece is a large, hand-painted text, “Happy Thanksgiving,” adorned with falling leaves that captures passersby's attention. Around the centrepiece, I illustrated elements like pumpkins, corn, and mushrooms, symbolizing abundance and gratitude.

Woodland creatures and forest elements were also incorporated into the design to make it that much more festive for the Fall season. The layout is balanced, ensuring that each element draws the eye while maintaining a cohesive look. Subtle shadowing and highlights were added for depth, making the entire window splash pop.

The Thanksgiving-themed window splash will be converted to a Halloween theme in the next few weeks. The corn and pumpkins will stay, but the pumpkins will have silly faces adorned on them. Bats, ghosts, and more spooky Halloween surprises will be added to the window splash.
